Paths to joining the IBEW

APPRENTICESHIP:

Our five-year apprenticeship for Inside Wireman (electrician), and three-year apprenticeship for Sound and Communications Installer (low-voltage data-comm) are the best in the world. We don't charge for the education either, so no student loans to pay back, and you will work while you learn. Your only cost is is for the class text books. And they are sold to our apprentices at below our cost. We aren't into education for the money like most vocational schools, we know that we are training our next generations of journeymen.

The apprenticeship can be reached at (559)251-5174, or at http://www.fresnojatc.org.

And we also offer a wide variety of skill upgrade classes at our training center. Conduit bending, motor controls, instrumentation, solar, NEC code, just to name a few. And since we are a state approved school, all class time is applicable for continuing education hours credit for the state electrician's license. We all have to get 32 hours every three years, why not get those hours for free.

FOR ELECTRICIANS and LOW VOLTAGE INSTALLERS:

There are several ways to join the IBEW. Please contact Jake Piland at (559)341-7756 or Dave Clark at (559)470-5700. They can walk you through the process.

FOR CONTRACTORS:

If you are an employer or soon will be and are interested in becoming signatory with us, or just want more information, please feel free to call the office at (559) 251-8241. Business Manager Ronny Jungk or Organizers Dave Clark and Jake Piland will be happy to answer any questions. We can also put you in touch with some of our existing employers so that you can get information from another owner's perspective.

The IBEW has implemented several new programs to help make our contractors more competitive, and with our highly skilled and efficient workforce, and free training available to your current employees, we can help make you more profitable and expand into new markets.
